Dr. Jen Caudle, an American family doctor, has revealed in two TikTok videos which parts of the body we often neglect when showering.
Her videos, which have achieved over 2.5 million views, contain important hygiene tips. Dr. Jen stresses the importance of cleaning the belly button and behind the ears.
She advises remembering by rubbing behind your ear and then smelling your finger. If it smells unpleasant, that area has not been washed recently.
According to Metro, Dr. Jen also warns that many people neglect their nails, legs, toes, and other body parts. Fingernails can harbor infections such as pinworms and bacteria that can cause diarrhea and vomiting.
Therefore, it is important to clean them thoroughly on a regular basis. Dr. Jen stresses that it is not enough for soap to run down the legs simply – they should be actively washed.
The toes should also be consciously cleaned to avoid infections of various kinds.
Abbas Kanani, a pharmacist at Chemist Click, points out that the accumulation of sweat on the toes can cause fungal infections and smelly feet, which are often due to poor hygiene habits.
